A creative and enthusiastic individual is required to join the Music and Music Technology (MMT) subject area at the University of Huddersfield as Lecturer in Composing for Screen. This position offers the opportunity to join a well-established team in a subject area with a long history of academic excellence. Building on this strong foundation we have recently created the Yorkshire Film and Television School which supports collaboration across all subject areas within the School of Arts and Humanities that run courses related to the Film and Television Industry.
The post holder will form part of a dynamic team, which focuses on innovative teaching practice, linking with industry and supporting the growing shift towards a more diverse community of undergraduate students.
You should have appropriate professional and teaching experience in higher education. Essential is a strong awareness of your subject and enthusiasm to bring understanding of this practice into your teaching.
You should have a PhD qualification (or nearing completion) in Music or a related discipline. You should also have a track record of research or clearly show the potential to contribute to research culture, especially given MMT continues to perform highly in this area.
