In the Faculty II – Education – Architecture – Arts, in the subject music, we are looking for a postgraduate research assistant to 01.02.2021 at the following conditions:
100% = 39,83 weekly hours
Pay group 13 TV-L
temporary 31.01.2024
Your tasks:
The position is intended to facilitate the academic qualification, specifically a German habilitation (post doctorate degree). You will be teaching two courses (4 hours per week) and working closely with the chair of music education and its staff. Within this framework you have the opportunity to further and follow your own research interests.
Your profile:
PhD in the fields of (applied) ethnomusicology, ideally related to music teaching (formal and informal),
familiarity with discourses in music education or sociology of music education,
visible focus on interdisciplinary ethnomusicological research related to educational contexts (classroom, communities, policies etc.)
original fieldwork in areas related to Applied Ethnomusicology
experience with different methodologies (preferably qualitative research, videography etc.)
strong research interest in the overlapping areas between ethnomusicology and music education
capability to identify additional areas of research interests that could result in new seminar offerings as part of our music-curriculum (with regard to music practice as well as a culturally sensitive classroom music teaching).
