If the applicant is employed as Assistant Professor, the employment will be a fixed term(4 years), full-time position. If the applicant is employed as Associate Professor, the position will be a permanent full-time position. Both positions include research and teaching activitiesThe position is primarily affiliated with the section Art, Aesthetics and Health?(AAH).

The Art, Aesthetics& Health section constitutes an interdisciplinary group of scholars investigating art forms, aesthetic experiences and their meaning, value and interaction with people and society, especially in relation to health, technology, and sustainability.

The Assistant Professor or Associate Professor will be associated with a research group in the Department of Communication and Psychology. The music program's research group conducts sound and music research focusing on sound and music cognition, music technology, listening, music analysis, sound branding, music entrepreneurship, and music production. Successful applicants are expected to play a key role in the research group's future development. We welcome innovative and ambitious research agendas.

Applicants must demonstrate recognized research contributions to the field of musicology and be capable of teaching several modules within the music program.

The primary teaching responsibilities will include one or more of the following subject areas: music and sound production, music and sound analysis, music history, cultural theory, and music entrepreneurship. Additionally, applicants may possess teaching qualifications in anthropological and sociological methods, improvisation and interactivity, acoustics and psychoacoustics, music arrangement and performance, music pedagogy, and music aesthetics.

The applicant should be able to link theory and practice in teaching. 

Aalborg University’s music program is part of the Department of Communication and Psychology. The applicant will primarily teach within the music program, which offers two bachelor’s tracks—'General Music' and'Popular Music and Sound Production’—and single and joint master's programs. 

The applicant is expected to actively participate in the daily planning and development of the music program, be present on the Aalborg campus, and engage in interdisciplinary activities and possibly also teaching in other programs at the department.
