Job: Editorial Board & Book Reviews Editor for Popular Music History
The journal Popular Music History is currently inviting scholars to join their new editorial board.
They are looking for scholars with expertise in popular music or adjacent fields, demonstrated through quality publications, who are interested in actively contributing to the journal’s development. Scholars from any part of the world are welcome, and given the journal’s focus, an interest in historical perspectives on popular music is particularly desirable. They strongly encourage applications from scholars based in the Global South and from underrepresented groups in academia.
Board members are expected to
Review submissions for Popular Music History (on average 2 to 4 papers per year, depending on expertise and manuscript fit).
Contribute to shaping the journal’s direction, including suggesting future special issue topics and areas for development.
Promote the journal within the broader scholarly community (e.g., through conferences, networks, and institutional affiliations).
Call for a Book Reviews Editor
In addition to editorial board members, we are also seeking a Book Reviews Editor, who will:
Oversee the selection and assignment of books for review.
Identify and coordinate potential reviewers.
Maintain the quality and relevance of the journal’s book review section.
