CfP: Symposium Romani and Sinti Musicians between the State, Market, and Society (21–23. 8. 2025, Ljubljana) Deadline: 30.1.2025

The Slovenian research group Romani and Sinti Musicians in Slovenia from the Department of Musicology, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, is organizing an international and interdisciplinary symposium titled Romani and Sinti Musicians between the State, Market, and Society (Ljubljana, Slovenia, 21–23 August 2025). 

We invite submissions of paper, panel, round table, and film proposals focusing on Romani and Sinti as well as on musicians from other related groups regardless of regions, time periods, genres, styles, scholarly disciplines, and theoretical and methodological approaches. 

The key themes of the symposium will focus on Romani/Sinti interactions with the state, market, and/or society. 

Deadline for submission of the proposals is 30 January 2025.
