General Overview of the project:
I-STREAM aims to understand the impact of climate-related disasters on musical activity in three Caribbean cities reliant on tourism: San Juan (Puerto Rico), Kingston (Jamaica), and Havana (Cuba). To achieve this goal, the project will combine ethnographic research with the analysis of online videos of live concerts, examining the venues, frequency, and content of live music performances.
The researchers are required to spend an initial period of time (about 2 weeks) in
Venice, Italy, before the beginning of fieldwork in one of the two field sites (Kingston or Havana).
