International PhD in cultural heritage and ethnomusicology (Italy-Romania), open to popular music profiles, within the European project COFUND CHORAL

Eligibility:
The candidate/applicant may be of any nationality but must comply with the Marie Curie Actions rule: Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of the recruiting entity for more than 12 months in the 36 months preceding the date of the call deadline.
Must not already hold a Ph.D. degree at the time of the competition
Applicants may not propose their own topics or write a proposal. The research topics were proposed by licensed supervisors from the UPPA Doctoral Schools and implementing partners following a call launched to the program's academic community. Applicants must choose from topics published on the CHORAL interface.
The specific PHD research topic for the doctoral program in ethnomusicology is:
UNITED-UVT-5.8.16 : ACUSTEME. Development of an OWL ontology for Linked Data publication of Italian and Romanian ethnographic and ethnomusicological digital archives.

Recommended skills: strong training (at the master's degree level) in musicology/ethnomusicology/popular music studies and/or strong skills in cultural anthropology. Willingness to be trained, as part of the CHORAL project, in digital humanities skills applied to ethnomusicology and cultural anthropology. Basic skills in logic and set theory are also very helpful (but not essential upon selection).
