IASPM XXI 2022 in Daegu, South Corea: Announcement of Conference Format and Financial Support Application

15th March 2022 update on the IASPM 2022 conference:

Dear all,

We regret to inform you that the local organising committee have decided to take most of the sessions in IASPM XXI 2022 as virtual to make sure a safe and sound conference experience for all participants despite the unstable situation of COVID-19. We have closely monitored the situation thus far with a hope of holding a fully face-to-face conference. However, we reached the point in which we could not delay the decision any longer.

Although the Korean government just announced a relaxed quarantine polity, the situation remains extremely volatile. Therefore, we decided not to take risks in this uncertain time. We will only be able to hold a very limited number of special sessions such as keynote and plenary sessions on site. We are sorry that we cannot accommodate more of you, but we believe participants will have more flexibility in terms of procedures and costs such as accommodation, flights, and visas.

We have started early-bird registration from 1 March 2022. You can register at a special rate until 31 March during the early-bird period. Those who are planning to participate, please do not miss this opportunity. Please also note that all participants need to complete registration before the conference.

For those in need of financial support, IASPM offers bursary for eligible participants. Previously the arrangement was to compensate for travel costs. Due to the current pandemic situation, however, the bursary will be repurposed to compensate for the registration fee. Please see below for more information.

If you need further information or have any questions, please feel free to contact us at iaspm2021@gmail.com. We are looking forward to seeing you all at the virtual conference.

Kind regards,

Keewoong Lee (co-chair) Hyunjoon Shin (co-chair)
