CfA: Midwest Graduate Music Consortium 2022: In Dialogue with the Past, USA (hybrid; Deadline: 24./31.01.2022)

The Midwest Graduate Music Consortium (MGMC) invites paper and score submissions for the 26th annual meeting. The hybrid event will take place on April 9-10, 2022 and is hosted by Northwestern University.

Deadline for abstracts: 31.01.2022
Deadline for scores: 24.01.2022

The theme for 2022 is “In Dialogue with the Past” and the conference will consist of paper presentations, a new music concert, and a keynote address by Dr. Wendy Heller. Graduate and advanced undergraduate students are invited to submit new compositions and academic paper presentations pertaining to traditional music studies (musicology, ethnomusicology, music theory, and music education), as well as sound studies, performance studies, and media studies.

Scores should be submitted by January 24, 2022. Abstracts are due by January 31, 2022 at 11:59PM CST. Given the rapidly approaching deadline, we will consider extensions on a case-by-case basis. Please contact MidwestGraduateMusicConsortium[at]gmail[dot]com before Jan 31 2022 if you’re interested in submitting an abstract but will require more time.
A formal call for papers and scores can be found on our website: https://mgmc2022.wordpress.com/.

Please contact Valeria Chavez Roncal at MidwestGraduateMusicConsortium[at]gmail[dot]com with any further questions about the conference.
