CfP: "Sustainability through Art.", Geneva, 24.-25. September 2020
"Sustainability through Art. The role of art in and towards sustainable changes" which will be held at the University of Geneva (Switzerland), 24-25 September 2020.
What is the social and ecological cost of producing, distributing, hearing and preserving of art? What is the environmental and, indeed, social and economical impact of online art consumption? What can artistic work and the art world teach us about sustainability? What role can artists have in driving the change towards more sustainability? Is a more responsible production, consumption and preservation of culture possible and how? These are just some of the questions that we are looking to address. The floor is yours!
Proposals are due by 15 April 2020.
The event is organized by the Foko-KUKUSO / RC-SAC Research committee Sociology of Arts and Culture of the SSA with colleagues from the universities of Geneva, Lausanne and Lucerne, with the support of the SAGW-ASSH Swiss Academy for Social Sciences and Humanities.
On the programme: paper presentations, roundtable discussion and a scientific world café.
