Continuing (yearly renewable) position at the Center for Advanced Studies in Music. Assistant Professor (roughly equivalent), Sound Engineering/Design. Areas of specialization should include acoustics, digital audio theory and may include any of the following: psychoacoustics, electrical engineering, audio equipment design, studio acoustics and design, live sound reinforcement, digital signal processing for audio applications, sound design, audio for video and games, and post-production. Teaching Responsibilities: six courses per year, including masters and doctoral level acoustics courses.
Doctorate in Audio Engineering, Acoustics/Psychoacoustics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred, A.B.D. considered. Rank: Instructor/Asst. Professor. Salary will be negotiable.
Located on the university’s Macka campus, the Center for Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM) was established in 1999. It provides the only U.S.-style graduate music program in Turkey, and attracts top quality international students in an environment emphasizing research. MIAM offers a Masters degree in Music with specialties in Composition, Music Theory, Historical Musicology, Ethnomusicology, Performance, Sound Engineering and Design, Sonic Arts, and Music Business and Management. It also offers the Doctorate with concentrations in Composition, Performance, Sound Engineering and Design, Sonic Arts, and Ethnomusicology. In addition to teaching facilities, the Center houses a music library and a state-of-the-art recording studio.
