Contribute a unique voice to the music theory program and provide excellent teaching; pursue and maintain a high level of research and publication; teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including those in the undergraduate music theory core curriculum; mentor graduate students in the completion of their final projects; collaborate with faculty colleagues in recruiting students and in the development of curricular initiatives at the graduate level; and, engage in professional service.
PhD in Music Theory, completed or in hand at time of appointment; demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate core theory and ear training classes; scholarly achievement as demonstrated through presentations and publications. Desired
Demonstrated excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels; demonstrated expertise and interest in music theory pedagogy or 20th/21st century music theory strongly preferred; ability to teach in other areas of specialized interest, which might include music technology.
