The Music Department at Colorado College invites applications for a tenure-track professorship in music and technology, to begin in the fall semester of 2015. The emphasis of this new position is on interdisciplinary and digital creativity within the liberal arts. Colorado College is committed to increasing the diversity of the college community; candidates who can contribute to that goal are particularly encouraged to apply, identifying experiences that will add to that diversity. The ideal candidate will bring an intellectual approach to the history and literature of music and technology, have a commitment to and potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly/creative productivity, and hold an interest in innovative collaboration with faculty and students from a variety of departments and backgrounds. Preference will be given to candidates whose expertise within music and technology lies within one or more of the following areas: sound design, sound installation, multimedia, digital production, theory, composition, and popular music. We are particularly interested in candidates willing to support the core content courses of the music department in addition to their individual areas of expertise. A Ph.D. is required, but ABD will be considered if degree is completed by the start of employment.
