Journal of Musicological Research
„Music and World War I: 100 Years Later“
The Journal of Musicological Research, a quarterly peer-reviewed journal published by Routledge, is seeking submissions for a special issue on „Music and World War I: 100 Years Later“ to appear in late 2013 or early 2014. Submissions may represent a variety of areas of inquiry that deal with the different types of music and the groups and populations affected by, or involved in, the Great War.
Topics are not limited to any particular area of scholarly study, but possible subjects might include the following:
- Roles played by musicians and composers during the Great War
- Music in the military
- Music as a political tool
- Patriotic music
- Songs and popular music
- Songs from the trenches
- Music on the home front
Submissions and questions should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, Deborah Kauffman, at firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for submissions has been extended to April 1, 2013.
